Conservative leadership hopeful Jean Charest tests positive for COVID-19 | CBC News

Jean Charest introduced Monday that he has examined optimistic for COVID-19.

Charest, the previous Quebec premier who announced his candidacy for the federal Conservative Party Thursday, stated on Twitter that his signs are gentle.

“I will be campaigning from house for the following few days,” he tweeted.

Charest launched his bid at a brewery in Calgary Thursday evening. It marked the primary cease on a tour to kick off his marketing campaign, dubbed “Constructed to Win.” 

The returning politician spoke to the crowded room a few vary of points, together with the significance of unity, representing Canadians equally, pure sources and respecting provincial jurisdiction.

Charest, 63, was the pinnacle of the now-defunct Progressive Conservative Get together from 1993 to 1998 and was a federal cupboard minister previous to that. He was premier of Quebec from 2003 till 2012, elected beneath the province’s Liberal celebration.

Charest went on to work within the personal sector after his time in politics. His work on the legislation agency McCarthy Tetrault included offering strategic recommendation to firms to assist them foyer governments.
